PRINCETON, NJ ? Democrat Mark Freda will host an event to officially kick off his campaign for Princeton mayor on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Residents and their families, friends, and neighbors are welcome to attend.

The event will be held February 19, 2020 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Princeton Italian-American Sportsmen’s Club (PIASC) located at 8 Founders Lane in Princeton, N.J.

“I look forward to this opportunity to meet members of the Princeton community and build upon the support I’ve received going into this campaign,” said Freda, who officially announced his candidacy in December.

Freda, 63, is President of the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad (PFARS) and a former Princeton Borough councilman, having served five years as Council President. He has been a dedicated and active voice in local leadership throughout his professional life. As Chair of the Transition Task Force, Freda helped lead the successful effort to consolidate the former Township and Borough of Princeton into its current singular entity.

Freda cites several critical issues that are currently facing the community — developing affordable housing needs, expanding relationships with Princeton University, Mercer County and the School Board, coordinating and expanding the transportation system, economic development, building on the existing Climate Action Plan, and maintaining roads and infrastructure.

“Transparency and clear two-way communication are at the core of my campaign,” said Freda. “My experience and leadership will help us grow our culture of customer service and responsive government here in Princeton.”
